Synaptogenesis: Removing the Rust

Synaptogenesis is the formation of synapses in the brain. Although occurring primarily in early brain development, the process continues throughout our lives. Memory is directly related to synaptic development and, while not only allowing us specific defining abilities of function, it also helps define who we are through our experience in life. Losing memory and destruction of synaptic function directly impacts who we are and how we perform and relate. This piece expresses my own personal mysterious, magical and defining experiences in memory loss and recovery.
